POLICY AND ADVOCACY

Part of the reason for founding the Community Center was to ensure that our community had both visibility and voice.  To ensure that our voice is heard and keep our fights for rights and recognition moving forward, we:

  • Work on local, state and national issues that impact our community, often in partnership with other LGBTQ+ and allied organizations and groups.

  • Provide information that helps all of us, LGBTQ+ individuals, families and allies alike, make informed decisions about issues, legislation and initiatives that matter to our community

  • Meet with legislators, elected officials and staff to educate them about the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and families

  • Host forums, such as our Town Halls, that allow us to speak with our elected officials, that bring us together in times of crisis and help the Community Center focus our advocacy efforts.

The moment we’re in tells us clearly that the fight is not over and that our love is on the line.  We’re here, ready to work with others, hear from our community and be a loud and proud voice for change.
