Kade Friedman (they/them)
Kade Friedman, M.S. Ed. is a New York-based queer, non-binary, neurodivergent educator, consultant, and disability advocate dedicated to building global cultures of classroom inclusion.
Their career began with a decade spent teaching kindergarten special education, a foundational era that shaped their commitment to co-creating learning environments alongside students. They currently serve as the Director of Education for PINE (Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education) and operate an independent consulting practice. Kade also serves as an adjunct professor at New York University’s Steinhardt School, designing teacher-training models and teaching graduate courses on equitable pedagogy.
Rooted in personal childhood experiences with bullying and isolation, Kade’s lifelong mission is to equip schools and families with the tools necessary to uplift human differences. Their comprehensive work bridges disability justice, universal design for learning (UDL), trans-inclusive pedagogy, and culturally sustaining practices.
Kade joined the Board in 2023 with a commitment to stewardship, community building, and ensuring we prioritize support for the most marginalized members of the LGBTQ+ community.
