Yo, Indocumentada (2013, Venezuela, 61 min, in Spanish with subtitles) is a documentary directed by Andrea Baranenko following three Venezuelan transgender women — a lawyer, a hairdresser, and an art student — as they fight for legal recognition and the right to change their names in a society where machismo and transphobia remain deeply rooted.
The film chronicles their personal stories and legal battles while exposing the broader social and legal exclusion faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Venezuela. Selected for the 2013 United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF), Yo, Indocumentada is a powerful testament to resilience, identity, and the ongoing struggle for trans visibility and rights.
Free and open to all.
