Peace & Protest: Songwriting Lab

  • Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center 300 Wall St Kingston United States (map)

Peace & Protest: Songwriting Lab invites participants to explore the power of protest music and create original songs inspired by its long history of social and cultural impact. Drawing from traditions ranging from civil rights anthems to contemporary songs of resistance and visibility, this workshop explores how lyrics, melody, and structure can be used to express ideas and raise awareness.

This two-hour workshop is a chance for community members to come together, get inspired, create music in groups, reflect on the state of our country through guided songwriting, and share their work through performance in a creative and open setting. No prior songwriting, singing, or music-making experience is required. Participants are encouraged to bring instruments if they play and be willing to collaborate.

Facilitated by Andrew Wolfson, Revival Jam Music Therapy.

Free and open to all!
