Mission: Pride gathers the LGBTQ community in celebration by reaching out to our members, potential members and our allies in the Hudson Valley and beyond. We share our history, our diversity and increase our strength in numbers.
Goal: We will continue to promote positive visibility of LGBTQ people in the Hudson Valley. Our strategy is to host a well-organized event with quality entertainment, local LGBTQ-supportive businesses as sponsors and vendors, and non-profit health organizations as exhibitors, in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Theme: This year our theme will center on marriage equality and fighting for our civil rights. We say, “Love=Love,” and claim our rights to marriage and to live our lives enjoying the same rights and privileges as non-LGBTQ citizens. We are excited by how far America has come, as evidenced by the election of our first African-American President; at the same time, the passage of Proposition 8 in California shows how far we have yet to go in treating all Americans with the dignity and respect they deserve. Whether you are LGBTQ or an ally, the time has come to show your support for equal rights. Come join us as we march down Main Street in New Paltz where, five years ago, same-sex couples were married by then-Mayor Jason West.
This section should discuss the benefits of sponsorship and how to become a sponsor. It will link to a sponsor signup form. I still need input for this section.
Every year for the last four years a group of dedicated volunteers has come together to pull off one of the major annual events the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center holds, the Pride March and Festival. This year you can be a part of that. Join us! Have fun, make friends, and make a difference. We need your help with the following:
To volunteer, fill out the online volunteer form or email Retts.

We hope your group will be able to join us at this year's Pride event. If you do plan to march, please let us know so we can add your group to the march lineup. If you plan to have a decorated vehicle or a motorcycle in the march, we need to register it with the Village of New Paltz, so please provide that information (Note: You need to register a motorcycle, whether you are participating as an individual or as part of a group). Also, if your group would like to have a table at the festival, please let us know. You can provide all this information in the online registration form.
