TWO HUDSON VALLEY LGBTQ CENTERS “SHARING THE LOVE” TO HELP LOCAL FOOD BANKS AND PANTRIES ON FEBRUARY 21

KINGSTON AND WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK (Feb. 17) – On Saturday, February 21, the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center and the LOFT Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Services Center for the Lower Hudson Valley will co-sponsor an evening of “Sharing the Love” intended to help replenish the stock of area food banks and pantries during a difficult winter. The unique event represents a collaboration between two area LGBT community centers, with each center hosting a dance party in its home city. In return for free admission to each event, members and friends of the Center and the LOFT will be asked to bring a donation for local food banks and pantries.

Both “Sharing the Love” parties will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. on February 21. The LOFT event will take place in Asbury Hall, on the grounds of the Memorial United Methodist Church, at 250 Bryant Avenue in White Plains, with donations going to AIDS Related Community Services; the Center will host its event at its headquarters building, 300 Wall Street in Kingston. Attendees are asked to donate non-perishable items such as oatmeal, cornmeal, lentils, dry beans, canned beans, whole grains, canned pumpkin, coffee, tea bags, hot cocoa mix, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, maple syrup, honey, sugar, and cleaning supplies. Guests will enjoy refreshments and dancing to the music of DJ John Martin.
