KINGSTON, NEW YORK (Jan. 23) -- More than one hundred people assembled in the Council Chambers at Kingston City Hall Tuesday evening, January 23, to elect new members to the board of The Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center.

The newest board members are Jeff Stults, a professional photographer living in Rosendale; Marcuse Pfeifer, a longtime Kingston businesswoman and gallery owner; Craig Burdett, a communications professional at Vassar College and resident of New Paltz; and Timothy Hunt, a nationally recognized therapist and social worker based in Stone Ridge.

Stults, Pfeifer, Burdett, and Hunt join the roster of returning Board members: Ginny Apuzzo of Kingston, President of the Center Board; Jan Whitman, Director of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, Board Vice President and resident of Walker Valley; Ted Hayes, a former Baptist minister and resident of Stone Ridge; Nicole Ressa, a health educator with Planned Parenthood who lives in New Paltz; and Kingston Alderman Mike Madsen.

Addressing the gathering, Ginny Apuzzo introduced the newest Center member, Kingston Mayor James Sottile. Mayor Sottile expressed his continued support for the Center and predicted the Center’s opening at 300 Wall Street would mark a revitalization in Uptown Kingston. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 3, will officially open the Center. The public is invited to attend.
